Interview with the Director - Kelvyn Davey

You have been an electrician for 35 years?

Yes, I started in the electrical trade in 1974, and then I started my refrigeration trade in 1976. I was VERY busy, but I love what I do and I enjoy being of service to people. 

How did you originally start out in the electrical industry?

Originally I started out as a partnership with my wife, Lynita, called KA & LD Davey Pty Ltd in 1981 in a town called Home Hill in Queensland. (11 klms south of Ayr, Queensland). 

What happened next?

We moved to Tooowoomba in 1990; we love it here.  Then, in 1996, we started a company called Aussie Air Care.

What services were performed by Aussie Air Care?

Aussie Air Care serviced the marketplace primarily as an air conditioning company, as well as an Electrical, Refrigeration Contracting & Appliance Repair Company. 

So why did you change the name from Aussie Air Care to CARE Technical Services?

Aussie Air Care was perceived in the marketplace as only an air conditioning company, and sometimes as a Car Care company, even though it was predominately an Electrical Contracting company, a Refrigeration Contracting Company, an Air Conditioning Company, and an Appliance Repair company; all complimentary trades that offer customers a comprehensive one stop professional technical shop to satisfy your immediate household, office, workshop, manufacturing complex, industrial or farming needs. So we needed to brand the company with a name that covered all these services, hence the name CARE Technical Services. 

Why did you call your company CARE Technical Services?

Due to my professional multi-skill levels, it has always been difficult to promote all of the trade disciplines to the marketplace, so I had to change the perception in the community â hence the name CARE Technical Services. At CARE Technical Services we really DO CARE about the customer. All of our technicians were trained by me to provide the same level of friendly, professional service to each and every customer.At the end of the day, if the customer is happy, then we are happy. 

Tell us about your family?

I am married to Lynita, coming up on our 32nd wedding anniversary. I have 5 beautiful daughters â Lyndrea, Kylie, Deanne, Amber & Joelle. All are living in Toowoomba, so we see a lot of each other.
